Role Profile – Group Chief Executive

Responsible to: Chair

Overall Purpose

  • To provide inspirational leadership to The Community Housing Group and ensure that the organisation meets its strategic aims and objectives.
  • To support and guide the Board in determining the vision for The Community Housing Group and in setting corporate aims, objectives and values.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Chair and the Board to deliver the organisation’s strategic objectives and maintain the highest levels of governance throughout the organisation.
  • Accountable to the Board for the delivery of service excellence in all areas of operation, in line with the organisation’s vision, core values and key priorities.
  • Lead organisational change and transformation that keeps customer focus and quality of service delivery at the heart of operations whilst meeting key priorities.
  • Ensure the financial viability of the organisation is maintained and adequate financial systems and controls are in place.
  • Oversee the delivery of an efficient and effective service to the Board of The Community Housing Group, ensuring that the Board are kept well informed openly and honestly on all relevant issues and assisting the Board in reviewing their training needs as appropriate.
  • Lead, develop, monitor and coach the Executive Team, setting for them challenging goals and objectives to achieve the strategic priorities.
  • Identify development and other new business and growth opportunities for the organisation.
  • Be regarded both internally and externally as a figurehead and ambassador for The Community Housing Group, playing a leading role in marketing the organisation.
  • Create a positive and open culture focussed on meeting the needs of our customers.
  • Deliver high levels of understanding of the organisational goals and strong staff engagement, through regular and open communication with staff.
  • Implement a strong stakeholder engagement plan is in place to assist the organisation to meet its objectives and be a strong and well engaged player in the communities in which it operates.
  • Have a well developed and evidenced understanding of customer need and ensure that our plans, so far as possible, reflect that need.
  • Make sure that the organisation has a well developed approach to risk management and has a positive approach to identifying and managing risk.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
